...wow! this birth sounds extremely painful, Tam!
After reading Elliot's birth story, I think I'd better prepare for more pain for the 2nd birth. I thought 2nd time round would be easier and faster, too. That expectation just have to change now.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13358262286136693687noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1094877959826559848.post-48477210971405142162011-12-06T11:20:56.269+00:002011-12-06T11:20:56.269+00:00Oh my god, what a horrible thing to go through! I ...Oh my god, what a horrible thing to go through! I agree though that those magical birth stories ('oh it hardly hurt at all...' or 'I don't really remember the pain' yeah right...) are a bit of rubbish. I think it's important to acknowledge how painful and difficult it is, that's mentally healing in itself, rather than denying it.

So you gave birth standing up? That's interesting! Who caught him as he came out? How did Andy handle all of this? I am rubbish when Andrew is in pain so I can only imagine what it's like for a man to see his wife going through something like this and not being able to do anything to take the pain away..

I'm surprised (although I know stuff is always different for everyone) about your description of the pushing. It was SO different for me. I just felt like I had to take the most massive dump (scuse the graphicness lol) and couldn't help but push. Like my body just wanted to push him OUT. I was never told I was 10cm and to start pushing, I just NEEDED to at a certain point and started doing it. I remember that feeling of the head moving down.. *shudders* so painful.

I totally had the same experience afterwards with the gas & air!! I used it during the labour & birth but didn't feel like it had much effect. Then during the stitching it was like omg I haven't been this high since smoking weed lol.

Talk soooooon. xxxxx *big hugs*Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14857995831357866483noreply@blogger.com
